Contemporary Kitchen Renovation Mini Story

Situation: The beautiful architecture of the alpine home was originally finished out with a kitchen that quickly became tired, dated and worn, and did nothing to complement it.  Although the kitchen did not cater to the homeowner’s love of baking, it was only going to receive a quick facelift to tie in with other renovations.

Challenge: During the planning process the homeowner became more displeased with their existing kitchen, and therefore the goals for the space evolved.  Ultimately the decision was made to pursue a complete re-make of their entire kitchen from floor to ceiling.

Solution:  To address a request for an injection of color, we composed a palette of neutral finishes combined with the dominant Sherwin Williams, Obstinate Orange painted on the ceiling.

The Result:  A refreshing complement to both the modern hybrid timber frame architecture, and the homeowner’s contemporary artistic aesthetic, this kitchen was transformed into the ideal space for this retired couple to pursue their culinary hobbies & entertain family & guests for years to come.
